Quick, Simple, Fun & DONE! One Die, Two Cards

Published on 23 May 2024 at 21:21

Handmade cards are special...and often time-consuming to make.  I can spend hours on Pinterest or YouTube looking at beautiful cards (aka "inspiration") and how-to videos, but sit down to create and still be at a loss of where to start.

The motto of this website is "One ___ at a time" where you get to fill in the blank (day, card, project, Diet Coke, whatever!).

Well, today I decided to challenge myself to just grab a paper pad and make a card or two...quickly.  Here's how it went...

Admittedly, I had already "played" with this new Penny Black note die and edger set (which I LOVE!) for another project.  So, the gold "note" was already cut along with the bottom blue cardstock panel.  So, I decided to go with it!

After adding double-sided tape, I also added my favorite glue and placed it on a lighter blue (complimentary color) cardstock, from the same pack.

Add a die to cut it to size for the front panel of my card and...voila!

The second card started much the same way...I'd already die cut the "note" word from glitter paper included in the same cardstock pack.  However, this time I used the SCRAP piece from the first card.

Using the "Just a note" stamp from Concord & 9th, I used my MISTI to repeat stamp the sentiment on the scrap piece of cardstock, using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

After placing it on the card base, I used black glittery washi tape to line the top and bottom of the scrap piece for a more finished look.  Then, I glued the glittery note die cut to the front and added some black gems.

QUICK, SIMPLE, FUN, and DONE!

Yes, there are many amazing things that could be done to step up these cards.  But, what a great starting point...right?!  Your challenge today is to grab a die (any die will do), a stamp and an ink (pad, cube, marker, etc.)...and make just one card!

Get crafty for you...and share the kindness for others!  Have a great day!
